New baby Elijah - December 15, 2009
Dear all,
Today I admitted a child who is approximately 1 year and 4 months old. The child was found outside of Arusha in an area known as Sekei. The baby (who I named Elijah) was abandoned by his mother or his relatives on December 3rd 2009. A lady found him crying and took the baby to police station. The police advised the woman to take care of the child while the police tried to find a relative or the parents of the child. Last Thursday, on the advice of the police, she brought the child to Social welfare as she was unable to take further care of the child.
The baby looks faint, with loss of hope and his body looks tired. He looks sick because of a lack of enough food and a balanced diet.
Due to that, the Social welfare brought the child to Samaritan. (Find attachment of Elijah)
